- Goose Island banks.
Petrels. Fork Tailed. July 18. 1939.
Saw large numbers of Fork Tailed
Petrels but did not bother to collect any.
We saw small flocks of these birds
apparently feeding on the water. Upon
approaching the spot there was no
sign of feed of any sort except
a light almost imperceptible oil
slick. This we observed several
times and wonder if the birds were
living on the oil slick or on what
caused the oily slick.
