Three grey mice (microtus) seem to have
taken up residence under our tent.

for Nancy [Mahoney] at Round Lake, but
it lacked a roof and a man.
We are now actively searching
for an eligible bachelor to roof
it.
Westwick Lake Sunday, May 8, 1955
Weather: Dawned windy and cold,
with snow flurries. There was ice on
the water buckets inside the tents
Nancy [Mahoney] checked the squirrel traps she
set last night, but without success.
We spent the morning and part of
the afternoon making a respectable
wood pile from two dead trees, Mary [F. Jackson]
and Tim [Miles Timothy Myres] doing most of the work
in the morning.
Eight Sandhill Cranes flew west over
the campsite in V-formation. and then veered north
over Sorenson at 12:00 AM. They
called while over the camp.
Nancy [Mahoney] and I walked around
Sorenson Lake this afternoon watching
