Mickey Maguire of Robson tells me
that one band of 5 or 6 came
up river in December + was not seen
again. The only other wolf sign
of the winter were 3 animals
in January. He saw where
they had made chases after
moose but were easily distanced
They went down river again.
Diseases [underlined]:- 2nd one, shot by
Burstrom was mangy.
Food:- 6 scat sheep.
[Frank] Burstrom confirms that the
wolves in his district prefer
elk before all other game.
Kills found elk 7 or 8
deer 2 or 3
sheep 2.

Kills:- Last winter Frank Wells found
about 20 elk 1 moose + 2 deer
killed by wolves in his area.
Today examined a 6 pt [point] bull - not
senile killed - presumably by wolves
at a beaver pond west of Athabasca Falls
