- Structure being about 12 inches
high + 10 inches in width + had
one entrance hole near the top
on one side. Inside were
3 young about 160 mm. [millimetres]

yet open, they had no fur on
the flying membranes or underparts
The back was grizzled grayish
brown, with the head + tail
darker - the gray predominating
in these areas. The only noise
made by these or their mother
was a shrill squeaking chirrup.
Set out a line of 21 traps
for flying squirrels in the
course of this I examined about
15 old nests. They ranged
in height from 5 to 25 or 30
ft [feet] from the ground, the majority
being about 10 ft. [feet] All were
off the same construction as
already described, one was a
converted crows nest. The
