4 miles S. [south] of Quesnel for the
night. The weather was good
all day but clouded over towards
evening. Ruffed Grouse common
Red breasted Sapsuckers common
Saw a pair of Pigmy Nuthatches
at Soda Creek. Hermit thrushes
very common.
May 9. [1932]
Went into Quesnel in the
morning + saw Lunn, he
referred us to [John] Boyd at
Cottonwood so to Cottonwood
we went. Mr. [John] Boyd told
us the Ahbau Lake was
a cooked up job and no good
+ advised us to try the
Cottonwood, Lightning + Swift
Rivers. Proceeded 4 miles
to junction of said rivers
