  • June 6 [1932] Took 7 Microtus drummondi in my mouse traps + 4 rabbits in the snares. All the rabbits had one or two of the peculiar worms in the body cavities. 3 were [female symbol]s with the testes greatly enlarged the 4th was a [female symbol] with 4 embryos about 3 in [inches] long. Took a fine female chipmunk + another of those new warblers. Saw two more warblers but was unable to get them on account of the limited range of the rifle when used with shot. Shot a fine male red ruffed phase of the gray ruffed grouse. Also a normal gray male, Saw a [female symbol] with a number of downy young. Ruby Cr. [Crowned] kinglets + Redstarts common There are a couple of pairs of Savannah sparrows nesting in the meadow at the S [south] end of the lake.
