- This vase, painted in underglaze cobalt blue and copper red with a celadon wash to denote rocks, is decorated on the tapering sides with a scene of two men on horseback and two men on foot setting out across a causeway with a pavilion on the opposite shore. There is also a fisherman and a boat in the water. On the trumpet-shaped neck is an inscription in underglaze blue recording the presentation of the vase by Sun Daji to the ancestral hall of the Duke of the State of Yue in the early months of the ninth year of Yongzheng (1731).
