- Callospermophilus
Monashee Pass, B.C. [British Columbia] June 24-25/37 [1937]
The same rock slide as Pikas
we took 3 [male symbol] g. m [golden-mantled] groundsquirrels.
one large ad [adult] + 2 yearlings. Both
ages were moulting.
These animals were extremely
quiet, slipping from place to
place on the slide without a
sound. Tended to stay more
above ground in their wander-
ings than did the Pikas.
Eva Lake, Revelstoke Park July 12/37 [1937]
Today at 8000' on a jagged
rocky peak I shot an ad. [adult]
Cally [Callospermophilus]. When first seen it was
carrying a mouthful of
sedges + saxifrage heads toward
a rockslide.
Same local. [locality] July 16/37 [1937]
Took 3 more of these
animals within 100 yards of
the place I took the first
one.
