Reports catching 36 marten in 3 nights
during a migration between Kootenay Crossing
+ Vermilion Crossing
One winter took 29 Lynx (1916-17) in
some region but in general lynx
scarce
Vegetation of Vermilion + Kootenay
river bars features shrubby Cinquefoil,
(some willow) spruce + Eleagnus [underlined].
The latter [word crossed out] Eleagnus is only moderately browsed
about 20-30%.

Left Radium Hot Springs at 9 AM. +
drove to Banff where we arrived
at 1 PM
Near the springs saw 2 rabbits + a
spruce grouse on the road
Game Seen: In Kootenay Park:-
5 [female symbol] + 1 yearling mule deer
2 [female symbol] + 1 [male symbol] whitetail
2 black bear
8 elk + 2 calves
In Banff Park
2 [female symbol] mule deer
2 black bear
1 badger
3 geese with 9 goslings
24 head of large game in about 70 miles
