Several marmots have been seen
near the cabin despite the abominable[?]
weather.

just to one side of the burrow
entrance.

Yesterday watched a marmot forage
on the short alpine ridge. It moved
slowly forward feeding just like
a horse would. When an eagle
flew over it whistled, then flattened
itself on the rock.
Today investigated a note like
that made by a young ptarmigan
calling a parent + found it to
be coming from a marmot.
