Ed Macdonald 2 days ago shot a large [male symbol]
grizzly that had been bothering the
Chalet. For details see autopsy sheet.
We examined the trail as far up as
the summit above Beaver Lake + saw
no recent tracks + the Maligne Road for
4 miles with same results. Ed [Macdonald]
reports a [female symbol] with cubs or yearlings at
Beaver Lake on June 6 + an ad [adult] [male symbol] seen
by car driver on Maligne road on
evening of June 7.
Q.C. [Queen Charlotte] city. Aug [August] 6/46 [1946]
Gordon Reid reports grizzly very
abundant at head of Quatna [Kwatna] Inlet on
the mainland. Also on Koeye River.
Cabin 10 miles up the Koeye right on
river + beside the trail.
