- Translated transcription: The mermaids have decided that they will not be separated from their friend. Just as before they followed her in the waves at home, now they wish to follow her over the powerful, unknown reaches of the ocean.
Vébjörg watches them, how they follow the ship, and is touched by their loyalty. Like dolphins they sometimes jump right up out of the water, dive down and cleave once more the whitecaps in joyous movement.
It is easy for them to follow the ship, as none of the ocean’s agile swimmers can keep up with them.
