Northwestern Muskrat [underlined]
Alta lake B.C. [British Columbia] Aug. [August] 19. 1937. This a.m.
caught an ad [adult [female symbol] Muskrat at the mouth of
the small stream flowing into the lake near
Archibald's bunkhouse. [Illegible word] cuttings quite
plentiful. Canoed up 21 mi [mile] creek to
Ry [railway] track + saw numerous signs of these
rats, laneways and cuttings.
Aug. [August ] 20/37 [1937] Caught a [female symbol] jun [juvenile] in same trap
this a.m. so lifted trap. Prepared this specimen
with saltpetre + Borax only (equal pts [parts]) + will
send it to Prov. [Provincial] Museum. Complete skin shows
signs of moult.
