By 9:30 deer all bedded
down. Beds on ridges + in
groves of firs where there was
a good ground cover of
moss. + no ground vegetation
to speak of. In nearly every
case such bed areas were
surrounded by areas of dense
salal + berberis so that
silent approach was rendered
exceedingly difficult.

Weight 6 hrs [hours] after death 138 1/4 lbs. [pounds]
Stomach + contents 9 1/2
intestine 6.
Liver + lungs not weighed.
Total length 1390, tail 170,
hind foot 430, shoulder 740,
ear from notch 163.
sex development.
Testes retracted, one scrotal
the other under skin of abdomen.
Combined volume 21 cc. [cubic centimetres] no
sperms.
