Saw snowy owl, 3
golden plover, 2 cranes
A pair of red polls, a [male symbol]
tree sparrow, 4 savannahs
+ many Longspurs
At noon a bearded
seal "Ugchuck" came into
the bay, looked very
much like a sea lion
Dr [Alf Erling] Porsild tells me this
whale oil is "Urlsuk"
Eider = mitsuk.
Patrolled about 2 miles of
beach + saw nothing on
it.
Mention stout fences for
outposts + use of aircraft
