1. Willow in burn near Findlay Cr [Creek]
2 browed amelanchier
3 flat with heavy browsing
on Amel. [Amelanchier] + salix
H. Nesbitt party shot a bull
on Frenchy Creek, tributary to
Granite creek.
Visited Pat (Bryan) Wrights ranch on
Dolbie meadows. He bought the
place 6 years ago after being
warned about the elk in there.
Has a ramshackle fence that
he is replacing with a heavy
log fence. Has about 2-3 acres
plowed + say he has had
alfalfa in some of it. The
plot must have been very
small, not more than 1/2 acre.
Claims elk killed it out
completely in one year.
Reports that his main damage
is during summer. Has had
a permit to shoot in summer
of /48. [1948] Reported shooting 3, voiced
about town that he had shot
100. Tells me he shot 6 or 7.
Asking for renewal. Suggest
refusal until damage proven
