- Mammals.
18 Marten - one seen almost weekly
at engine house last year by Ed Barbour.
None taken in two traps set by WB Johnstone
in ravine below compressor during our stay.
19 Mule deer - common - several seen
+ tracks everywhere. One 2 prong seen at
"salt-lick" - a favourtie spot produced as
a result of burning a quantity of blasting powder
in a fire.
20 Flying squirrel - one pair taken in marten
traps, baited with rodent carcass.
21 Long tailed Vole - Microtus
- Probably the most common mouse in the
open parts of the valley.
22 Pack rat - common; one taken by trap
by Chris Hansen; one shot by Carl in tool
house. Others seen
23 Jumping house. 3 taken
24 Black bear - observed by Fred Reger.
