Ravens are almost the most
abundant bird here. Several pairs
are still feeding young-on-the-wing.
Rose Harbour Aug. [August] 7 to 17/46 [1946]
Just two or 3 ravens here +
quite wild. They quickly found deer
offal left by us + while we were
digging Rhinoceros Auklets tried to
take the young birds we had killed.
Sandspit. Aug [August] 21/46 [1946]
Very common + very tame. Feeding
on the beaches at low tide apparently
upon crabs of fairly large size.
