Weather: thunder showers
I went to town with Bill Swan,
the head cowboy from Alkali, and
Betty [Cox] early this morning; and
shopped for both camps. I
watched grebes in the afternoon, and
Nancy worked on the canoe. The
waders are really essential, as I
was so cold when I left the blind
that I couldn't write.
I noticed a small flock (10-12)
of bluebirds in the trees and on
the ground around the tent, feeding.

Weather: cloudy with showers
Ron McKie arrived at noon
and told us that we would be
wanted for banding after all. Tim [Miles Timothy Myres]
told Nancy [Mahoney] yesterday that we
probably wouldn't. In the
afternoon we drove down to
Lac La Hache to pick up Ron [McKie]'s
equipment. We attended a Bar-
B-Q [barbeque] dance at the double-T-. Ron [McKie]
was a big hit with his bagpipes.
Tim [Miles Timothy Myres] saw a Rufus [rufous] hummingbird and Nancy [Mahoney]
saw a white breasted nuthatch.
