- July 21/64 [1964] cont'd [continued] Crossed the strait to Gifford
Peninsula + anchored temporarily in
2 small bays, the last charted as
Tenedos Bay. Same ecology
Cut into 5 logs in various places for
teredos, all were Bankia.
Anchored for the night in Prideaux Haven.
July 22/64. [1964] Left Prideaux haven at 8 AM. + proceeded
to Galley Bay, on Malaspina Peninsula + then to
Theodosia Inlet for night. Skin diving in Galley Bay.
Birds:- 3 juv [juvenile] or [female symbol] hooded mergansers at Galley Bay.
Molluscs. In evening dredged in the entrance to
Theodosia. Everything was recently dead
+ the bag a stinking mess.
July 23, 1964 Spent the morning fishing the entrance to
Malaspina Strait without success. Went
into Repulse Bay to take on water + some more
stores.
Afternoon powered over to Baker Passage
fishing then landed on the spit at the
north end of Hernando Island for a
picnic with Passat's crew. A beautiful
spot for picnics + swimming. Left there
at sundown + came in to Grace Harbour
on Cortez [Cortes] Island for the night. Clear +
starlit.
