- of the 3 Kamtschatka [Kamchatka] specimens
In as much as Reeve cited in 1865
Somerly is usually the author of this
volume.
For his fig [figure] of hyperborea [underlined]
Ockelmann chose a specimen identical
with the 3 spitzbergen specimens in
B.M. [British Museum]
I looked up Torell, O. 1854
Bidrag til Spitzbergen Molluskenfauna
Stockholm. As fig [figure] 6 pl. [plate] 2 he shows
the Spitzbergen specimens resembling
33 from that locality in the BM [British Museum].
The likeness to Ockelmanns fig [figure]
is good.
There are 2 synonyms for
Y. [Yoldia] thrascaiformis in Valeuscumes
also. fig [figure] 5 Nucula lanternian
(lanterniana) is one. [illegible word]
name predates this.
It looks as if
Yoldia amygdala amygdala
syn. [synonym] Y. [Yoldia] h. [hyperborea] limatuloides
Y. [Yoldia] limatula Pacific Coast
Y [Yoldia] " [limatula] gardneri " " [Pacific Coast]
Range N [North] Pac. [Pacific] + lower N. [North] Atlantic
to Iceland.
Y. [Yoldia] amygdalea hyperborea
syn. [synonym] Y [Yoldia] hyperborea hyperborea.
gardneri if distinct would be a 3rd
sub species
[Illegible word crossed out] Torell, 1854.
fig. [figure] 5 (his limatula [underlined] but actually
Y. [Yoldia] h. [hyperborea] limatuloides [underlined] of Ockelmann) came from
Iceland. The type locality of Ocklemann's
subspecies + is correctly so stated
by that author.
