no [number] 1 moved slowly out of sight,
still snorting #2 followed.
I approached to within 50
yards + then on all fours
moved into the open, Both
bucks stood + looked at me,
#1 snorting periodically,
Shot at head of #2 with .22
bullet hit twig. Buck trotted
+ a few steps + stood. Shot #1
dead with a .22 bullet in the
head. No [Number] 2 ran up + looked
at his dead companion then
moved off snorting, to
a distance of 100 yards or
so where I could hear
occassional [occasional] snorts for 15-20
minutes. I had the wind
in my favor.
Doe with 2 fawns smelled
me at 200 yards down wind of me. Several deer
heard me coming + went with
full retreat when I was 100
yards away in the timber
