- elephant - counted 36 of them including 3 old bulls and a large number
of young, some of them very small. We got close enough to get some good
photographs + then took off down the road looking for gerenuk. We were
most fortunate to come on a pair of them. Exquisite creatures, and watched
them for an hour as the male used his periorbitals for marking some sign

We then carried on to the Kenya border post on the main
road between Nairobi and Arusha + then toward Nairobi - On the
way we passed many herds of Masai cattle + closer to Nairobi huge

Zebra, Tommy [Thompson] + Grants [gazelle] as well as giraffe + ostrich in
smaller numbers close alongside a main highway to a big city
Arrived in Nairobi about 13:30, got bathed + then went
down to the zoology building for mail.
