Saw a lone billy low down on the
bank of Tyrrel Cr. [creek] about halfway
to the Pass.
Between the corners + the Ranch Bruce
Mitchell saw 3 nannies + 3 kids.

At the head of the river a big
open basin offers excellent goat
range + around it we saw 25
goat as follows
[male symbol]'s 5 3 1 group.
[female symbol]'s 13 10+3+4 1 group
jv. [juvenile] 3 3 [female symbol] 1 group
kids 4
Shot one very old [female symbol] 12 to 17 yrs [years] as near
as I can count horn rings. Poor condition
teeth largely missing. See autopsy sheet

Food - 75% willow
25% grass + sedge
Another group of 11 [female symbol] 4 kids + 2 yl. [yearlings]
had 2 of the kids lame. Shot one
+ found it had 2 deep cuts between
the toes of the rt [right] hind foot. This
infected. Foot much swollen.
Both the lame kids lagged
behind the band + bleated shrilly
but the [female symbol]'s paid no attention.
