Left Ootsa at 5 AM with Mr + Mrs
Geo [George] Kempple, Joyce [Cowan] + self in 24 ft [foot] river
boat with Johnson 10 outboard.
Up Ootsa 24 miles to Tahtsa River.
Just opposite Windy Point photographed
two yearling bull moose swimming.
The N. [north] shore of Ootsa Lake is lightly
timbered along the margin with aspen,
willow, + black poplar. Back from
the shore unbroken spruce +
jack pine.
The S [south] shore is timbered with
spruce + pine to the shore except
on sandy points where aspen
predominates.
Where Tahtsa R. [River] flows into
lake + up that river to its
junction with the Whitesail a
low lying delta land with
