  • Fishes (contd [continued]) Ling [underlined] - Common. Taken by net - live baited with fish and by spearing through the ice. Up to 4 feet in length. Two very small individuals were taken by seine on June 28th [1942] Kamloops - Present but not commonly caught - Some introduced. "Four years the only fish caught" G. Forbes. Up to 6 lbs [pounds] Large scaled sucker [underlined] [Largescale sucker] Runs up Forbes stream in large numbers (in May this year) 230 taken by kids [all crossed out] Fine scaled sucker (?) [underlined] Also said to run up stream. Gone first + more numerous. Come in Spring as soon as ice goes out. Squawfish [underlined] - Said to be common in spots. Not often taken. Shiers [underlined] [Redside shiners] Richardsonius Plentiful. Run up stream in spring. Chub [underlined] sp.[species]? Whitefish [underlined] - Not caught often - Sometimes seen in schools under the ice. Atlantic Salmon [underlined] - Once introduced; since 1918(?).
