Worked on the outfit all day
making oars, floor for skiff, caulking
skiff, etc. etc. [etcetera etcetera] Finished up at
midnight.
Reindeer Station July 9/47 [1947]
We left Aklavik at 11 AM yesterday
after getting into lots of trouble
with the jeep while ferrying our
load to the boat. Jeep mired once
+ pulled out by the Archdeaon [Marsh] of
Aklavik driving a 2 cylinder tractor
20 minutes later I drove the jeep
over the river bank - no brakes
but managed to stop it short
of swimming water + back out.
Our trip to Semler's on
Napoiak Channel took 5 1/2 hours
including a stop for lunch
