- Foreword
The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria is pleased to present Miniature Arts of China and Japan. This publication and the exhibition it refers to examines the Chinese and Japanese love of miniature art and the vast variety of treasures they have created.
This exhibition would not have been possible without the support of the Department of Canadian Heritage through its Museum Assistance Program. Thanks must also go to David Lemon of the Health Arts Society for helping to make this project more accessible to a wider audience. The Associates of the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, the British Columbia Arts Council and the Capital Regional District have all contributed financial assistance, which has enabled the AGGV to undertake this special project.
We would like to thank Barry Till, our esteemed Curator of Asian Art, for his work in developing, organizing and producing this project as well as all the AGGV staff members who assisted him.
