- Microtus. mordax [underlined] Nekis R. [Neekis River] Don pen. [Peninsula]
July 1-3, 1939.
Caught a number of Microtus here,
they are apparently not common and the
three females taken by me all contained
well formed foeti. These microtus did
not seem to live in the usual runways
that members of this species usually do
but rather in the stumps [word crossed out] roots of
upturned trees + under logs. The
runway sets were signally unsuccessful
except in the fact that toads always
were blundering into the traps.
