- Coldstream Lakes. Dec. [December] 19, 1939.
Parasites. Lungs showed small areas
near the margins swollen +
paler than the surrounding tissue
though this was darker than normal
as a result of gunshot wounds.
Two areas near the apex of the
dorsal lobe of the right lung
bore clusters of dark spots forming
circular areas of 2 mm [millimetres] diam. [diameter[ These
situated in the swollen areas already
mentioned. The dark spots contained
numerous lungworm eggs. A
single adult lung worm was
found.
5 Oesophagostoma. in caecum.
no tapeworms, Setaria, leg worms,
nose fly on liverfluke.
Mallphaga moderately abundant.
Lipoptena moderately abundant.
30% of individuals were in amplexus
numbers of females contained
larvae in various stages of development.
Next morning - 24 hours after
death of hart 6 puparia were found
among the long hairs of the rump
patch. They readily fell out, were
not attached to the hair in any
way. 3 of these I have placed on
damp earth in an incubator at 22 [degree symbol]
C [Celsius]. The other 3 are at outdoor
temperature.
