Found Pat [Patrick Waldyve Martin] discouraged about the moose situation + apprehensive about a deer irruption. The winter has been easy + we now have two years high carry forward. The range is certainly seriously overstocked wherever I have seen it. Spent today on the Lac du Bois range where we checked the area around Lac du Bois, Round Lake, Batchelor Pond + 2 or 3 others for waterfowl. Batchelor Pond.
