- July 9, 1964 Lifted anchor at 6:00 + proceeded
up Johnson [Johnstone] Strait, Chancellor Channel +
Wellbore Channel to Forward Inlet.
Cloudy with sunny periods.
Anchored in Forward Harbour at
10:00 hours + went ashore at low tide.
Notes on the beach are given under station
817. Proceeded to Port Neville under
sail. In evening walked the cobble beach
+ noted a great abundance of Acmaea.
Acmaea What appeared to be A. [Acmaea] persona was all over
the beach down to the 8' [foot] level. A. [Acmaea] digitalis [underlined]
+ cassis [underlined] common.
July 10, 1964 Departed Port Neville at 06:30 + with
25 knot wind aft proceeded down Johnston [Johnstone]
Strait to Alert Bay. There we shopped +
Jim [Genge] had Passat's radio repaired. Transformer
had burned out.
Only collecting was on an old float
where metridium + forests of Bankia
siphons were in evidence. Acmaea cassis [underlined]
+ A [Acmaea] testudinalis [underlined] common. Took 3 Mopalia
ciliata [underlined]
July 11/1964 Departed Alert Bay 0:612 hrs [hours] +
proceeded to Bull Harbour arriving about
11:34 hrs [hours]. Tide rising from a 0.2' [foot] low
Cloudy turning to rain in PM [evening].
Walked Roller Bay eastward.
