+ ran through Seymour Narrows + Johnston [Johnstone]
Strait.
Dredged off the N [north] end of Malcolm Island
station 730-732.
In mid afternoon the wind came up +
we went in to Sointula for the night.
Among the items of greatest interest on
the north end were 3.
1. A single specimen of Calliostoma [underlined]
variegata [underlined]
2. A damaged specimen of a Mopalia
from 80-90 fath [fathoms]
3. the posterior end of a large
Yoldia, several times the size of the
largest ensifera [underlined] known but with
the surface sculpture of that species.
The latter was taken in the muddy
sand at Sta [Station] 730. 42 - 45 fath [fathoms].
May 20, 1963. Left Sointula at 7:30 + proceeded to
Beaver Harbour. Here Station 730 was
good, but the shallow station 734 was
poor. 735 outside Round Island
was good. 736 no good at all.
