June 27 [1931] Mouse traps held 2 Peromyscus.
After breakfast we ran over to
Kye bay to set coon [raccoon] traps but
found the place all sellted [?] up
and no sign of racoon [raccoon]. Saw
kingfishers + rough winged
swallows, also cliff swallows
In the evening Mr [Kenneth] Racey shot a
nighthawk.
Saw a Quail's nest with 14 eggs +
the old bird covering every one
of them looked more like a
pancake than a Quail.
June 28 [1931].
Left Comox at 11:30 + drove to
Nanaimo where we caught
the boat for Vancouver.
