boat.
Game seen. 1 moose.
Tracks of Grizzly, cougar, coyote, black
bear.
Maligne L. [Lake] July 24/44 [1944]
Rode up here 12 miles in 2 3/4 hrs [hours]. Rain
until 10 AM. Then clearing. In afternoon
examined the winter sheep range on the
SW. [Southwest] slope not far from the cabin.
Found 2 ram skeletons
Game Seen:- 3 moose
2 deer
1 goat
Maligne Lake. July 25/44 [1944].
Beautiful day with fresh west wind.
Ran up the head of lake in the boat
with outboard power. Very little
game sign. Moose tracks + deer tracks
+ one set of caribou tracks at head
of lake. No goat seen + MacDonald [Edward McDonald]
tells me he has seen very few
along the lake. Looking up the
creek that comes in at the narrows
it seems perfectly feasible to climb
over a shale ridge onto Southesk
Pass.
Game Seen 4 deer.
