- Audubon + Myrtle Warblers.
Jasper. May 14/44 [1944]
Made a determined effort to check on
identity of these warblers along the
Buffalo Prairie trail. Here they are
very abundant + in full song. Saw
one violent courtship melee that
involved a [female symbol] myrtle a [male symbol] myrtle + 2 [male symbol]
Audubons. Both species seen to
be equally abundant.
It seems to me that the songs differ
The myrtle singing an unvaried
series of warbling notes while the
Audubon has a modified ending.
+ sings more loudly
Willow Creek May 19/44 [1944]
