• You ask if I ever hear from the McCormicks. Why, I should say I do. Wrote Hilda this morning and intend to write Maud tomorrow if all goes well, Hilda has entirely recovered from her badspill and is out riding again.
Yes, I write to Ada every so often. They have been down to Rouen for a month’s engagement, but are back in Paris again. And that reminds me that the boys who came down the line told me Charley Lundy will very probably be recomended for a decoration for his good work this trip. Will- be very pleased, if it proves eo, for he is a mighty fine boy.
Well, I think I’ve just about reached the end of my tether. As soon as I hear from the kid I’ll drop you a few lines. In the meantime, don't worry.

Dear Mother and Dad, -
I know that I'm a little late getting this letter away, but there was a reason. You see, I had been waiting to heqr from the kid before I wrote again, and his long-looked for and extremely welcome letter only came to hand yesterday, over three weeks since he went down tie line. You'll know without me telling you, how I haunted our "postie" during those three weeks, and what a heavy load was taken off my mind when hisfamiliar handwriting hove in sight. No doubt by thetime this readies you, you will have had a letter from him, and I hope you'll forgive me for cabling "Slightly wounded", vhen I knew fully well that he had a wound that would keep him in hospital for a few months.
