Jasper, Alta. [Alberta] June 21/43 [should be 1944]
On June 23 saw the first fawns,
twins of about 2 weeks old.
On the same day + daily since we
saw a doe on a small island
in the river near 4 mile. Today
she had a very young fawn with
her.
Poboktan Pass July 4/44 [1944]
Two bucks, neither completely shed
off appeared near camp here today
One more buck on July 5/44 [1944] same place
Brazeau Lake. July 7/44 [1944]
Saw 3 does here today at least
one was pregnant. All 3 were
very tame + have obviously been
here when warden was in
residence. Last summer of residence
1942.
Cairn July 11/44 [1944]
Saw 1 doe yesterday + one today on
the Cairn 3 miles below here.
Cairn July 14/44 [1944]
Saw 4 [male symbol] + 2 [female symbol]'s near the summit of
the pass.
Southesk Lake July 18/44 [1944]
Saw 2 [male symbol] + 1 [female symbol] on Pass.
Rocky Forks July 19/44 [1944]
1 [female symbol] at cabin.
