- Williamson Sapsucker.
Anarchist Mt. [Mountain] B.C. [British Columbia] June 20, 1936.
These birds very abundant - feeding
young. Four nests found were
all in live yellow pine 10 to
20 feet up. In one case a
chickadee had a nest full of
young just 2 1/2 ft [feet] above the
occupied sapsucker nest.
So far I have not seen this
species working in anything
but pine, Douglas fir + sometimes
larch though there is lots of
aspen available.
Two weeks later than this
in 1931 all the young were out
of the nest.
