  • Translated transcription: Rest does not soothe her uneasy mind, one upsetting dream vision follows the other. Mostly it is young Haraldr’s death they present to her. She sees her beloved foster-brother as Starkaðr’s spear has nailed him to the barn wall. Each time the lust for revenge grows in her breast, and she becomes ever more agitated by the horror of Haraldr’s undeserved fate awakened by the visions. In her sleep Vébjörg clenches her strong hands: “Woe to you Starkaðr! Woe to him, the evil, cruel warrior! Woe, woe!” Strong gusts of storm seem to underline her sleepwalkers’ words.
