First one made it, second pair, one turned back + lay on bank for a while before recovering. Other one almost made it but died in the water when approached by boat. Food: stomach contents 90% grass 5% strawberry 2% Trientalis? (spec [specimen] taken at [illegible word]) 3% indet. [indeterminate] Vermilion Crossing, B.C. June 25/43 [1943] Saw 2 goat about 4 miles up Tokumm Creek on W. [west] side. Slides not good goat territory - too much vegetation. Radium Hot Springs June 26/43 [1943] Saw 49 goat in groups of 4 to 8 + 2 singles on the E [east] + W. [west] fans of Mt. [mount] Wardle. June 28/43 [1943] Only 6 goat visible on Wardle - the arrival of warm weather may have occassioned [occasioned] a change in range. Sawback L. [lake] July 2/43 [1943] Saw 2 goat on SE [southeast] face of 8636 ft [foot] peak S [south] of Sawback L. [lake] Plenty of sign around the lake but no animals in sight
