- Suggests trying a
Sandy Best for the
Trillium etc - he is a Canadian
grower.
May 31, 1962 Oxford.
Came down from Edinburgh
by air to Birmingham + then
by train to Oxford. Elapsed time
about enough to have taken
me to Vancouver. These are the
most incredibly disorganized
slipshod people I have ever seen!
Registered in the Mitre Hotel.
Ancient, quaint, clean, comfortable
+ reasonable. Room L [pounds] 2/5 with
breakfast.
Has a most pleasant evening
with Peter + Lois. Ian + wife
Efford, Sir Alistair + Lady Hardy.
London May 31/62 [1962]
Had a busy day interviewing
potential candidates for the
genetics position. Dined with
Sir Alistair at Weston then took
the 9.55 to London.
London June 1/62 [1962]
Spent the day at the B.M. [British Museum]
Took my Edinburgh ticket down to
Charing Cross + filed for refund.
Ticket 0313 May 25 212/ fare.
Saw some most interesting Murex
in the collection. Those that especially
interested me were
Murex pinnatus China
" [Murex] falfacatus Japan + Australia
" [Murex] acanthopterus Ibu
" [Murex] bednalli Australia
