Spent the night at Watson Creek
9 mi [miles] S [south] of Masset. Drove into Masset in
the AM [morning] with 50 mice + 1 shrew, 1 [male symbol]
[illegible word] 1 kingfisher for our night's efforts
birds seen + heard. Tree + Barn swallows
West [western] flycatcher ( [illegible word]), Townsend Warbler
Fox sparrow, Saw whet owl, sharp shin [sharp-shinned hawk],
robins, sapsuckers, geese, crows, grouse,
kingfisher, Arctic loon.
1 squirrel calling.
Visited Peter Henson, Indian Agent
in Masset. His shell collection is
excellent. Saw a number of very
interesting species.
