Miette May 10, 1944.
Frank Burstrom reports that 4 wolves
worked over the Miette benches
most of the winter. He found
about 8 kills 50-50 deer + sheep +
1 elk.
Food:- Examined 2 pellets
1 elk - April
1 sheep. - winter.

Today examined a [male symbol] wolf shot
two days ago by Bert White at Decoigne
his 4th in less than a month.
Meas. [Measurements] [underlined]: T.L. [total length] 6' [feet] 1" [inch], tail 19" [inches], h.f. [hind foot] 11" [inches], height 35" [inches]
Wt. [weight] estimated at 140 lbs [pounds] to 150 lbs. [pounds]
Condition:- Animal moulting + looked
terrible, almost all guard hairs have
fallen out
Color dirty gray with blackish head
+ lower legs
Food:- Stomach full of fresh elk
meat.
Sexual development:- Very slight testes
small. I don't think it had bred
this year nor reached breeding condition
