Worked in town most of day but
in evening patrolled west to the
B.C. [British Columbia] Boundary.
Game seen Moose 3 [male symbol]'s
Elk. 71
Banff, Alta. [Alberta] July 25/43 [1943]
Today patrolled up Healy Creek to river
crossing, + collected plants on S [South] facing
slope. Went up Spray to 9 mile
+ collected earth + fecal pellets at
goat lick. Went west on highway
to 7 mile to get earth from sheep
+ goat licks. Distance 35 miles.
Game seen:- 12 goat
1 moose.
S. [South] facing bank on Healy Cr [Creek] Road:- Dominated
by a single species of grass, heavily winter browsed.
Also present small white flower, Black eyed Susan,
small yellow composite, yellow dandelion, onion,
campanula all of them abundant.
On Mt [Mount] Bourgeau slides grass dominant
varies locally, thus under Timber Pine grass,
but in general mild rye dominant with
several other grasses abundant. Flowers
collected except white stork bill geranium,
everlasting + red paintbrush
Along west road flora similar to
last.
