Mar 6/61 [1961] After dark 7 large sharks came
around the vessel, the largest in my
estimation was 8-9 ft [feet] long, the smallest
about 5 ft [feet]. We hooked the largest
but he broke a heavy swivel +
escaped. They showed little of recognize-
able characteristics, broad head + broad
blunt rostrum were noticeable, very
large expanse of pectoral, no white or
dark markings discernible, crevallis +
sierra swarmed around the vessel
later on.

4 water thrush, 6-8 Parula warblers, 1 Blue
mockingbird, 3 nightherons.

deer + shot at but lost a rabbit. Birds
