Beneath superficial muscles
of left side, + lying between these
muscles + the ribs was a
piece of weathered cedar 6" long x 3/8 in [inch]
wide. It had entered in
+ upward + backward direction.
A scab covered the entrance
hole. The [word crossed out] An ulcer had
formed + was about to
break the skin at the
dorsal end of the wound.
At the lower end where
drainage was better there
was only a little pus
+ a capsule of hard white
fibrous connective tissue
was forming round the
foreign body.
The lymph glands on
outside of thigh + point of
shoulder on the left side
were double the normal
size.
