Spent most of the day skinning.
Took 3 squirrels + saw a single
chipmunk which I was unable
to secure.
In the evening I set out
some more mouse traps around
the spot the [word crossed out] where I took
the Shrew + Synaptomys.
Mr [Kenneth] Racey took a very fine sharp
tailed grouse + a sharp shinned
hawk. Also saw a coyote hunting
mice.
July 26 [1931] Skinned nearly all day.
Went round traps in the
morning. They held a
large water shrew + a vole
a jumping mouse had been
eaten out of another trap.
In the afternoon we had a
heavy thunderstorm that
took about two hours
to pass over. After which
Mrs [Kenneth] Racey [Kathleen Eileen Louise Stewart], Joyce [Racey] + I went
fishing catching 23 fine
Rainbow trout in the
mouth of the stream.
July 27 [1931]. Traps held two shrews,
I think S. [Sorex] cinereus, after skinning
our specimens Mr [Kenneth] Racey + I
had lunch and canoed
down the lake to the
area of heavy spruce
