- Pseudopythina rugosa [word written over] rugifera
Saturna Isl. [Island], Aug [August] 5/60. [1960]
Young Jim Campbell found a
Upogebia bearing a large specimen
of this clam on the abdomen just
behind the last periopods. I watched
it for some time. Periodically
it would extend the siphon +
feel over the surface of the host.
When fully extended the siphon
lay along the groove between the
cephalothorax + the first abdominal
segment. Watching the action of
the siphon one gained the
impression that it was taking
something off the carapace of
its host. The movement of
the pleiopods rocked the clam
back + forth.
