The central portion of this plate has been
repaired. Originally, it may have been part
of a pricket candlestick or a cup-stand with
the raised centre removed. The central
motif, a nine-petalled lotus blossom, is en-
circled by lotus flowers and Buddhist sym-
bols. The outer rim has cloud scrolls alter-
nating with leaves. The base and outer rim
have been added later. The colours in-
clude: red, white, yellow, dark green, light
green and dark purple, on a turquoise-blue
ground.
